SUNDAY, August 23, 2020 21ST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

PRIEST: Through the intercession of St. Peter, the first pope and rock upon which the church was built, let us entrust our needs to the Lord.

1. For the pope, bishops and priests, may they grow in faith and love each day for Christ and his church, we pray to the Lord.

2. For leaders of nations, may they enact legislation and uphold laws that protect the dignity of life in all its stages, we pray to the Lord.

3. For all gathered here, as baptized Christians may we exercise the ministry of priest, prophet, and king in serving the church and others, we pray to the Lord.

4. For the sick of our parish and those who have no one to pray for them, may they be comforted in God’s caring love, we pray to the Lord.

5. For our beloved dead, may they come to dwell in the house of the Lord, especially ________________________, we pray to the Lord.
