SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2019 TWENTY-THIRD SUNDAY ORDINARY TIME

UNIVERSAL PRAYER

PRIEST: With confidence in God’s abundant love, let us present our needs this day.

1) For the pilgrim Church on earth, may the body and blood of Christ transform and sustain us in the light of truth, we pray to the Lord.

2) For all who govern or have authority over others, may the Lord of justice and mercy guide them in all that they do, we pray to the Lord.

3) For all those in the path of Hurricane Dorian, may the kindness and generosity of others give them hope for their future, we pray to the Lord.

4) For all who were affected by the shooting in Midland-Odessa Texas on Saturday, August 31st, may they find peace in the loving arms of Jesus, we pray to the Lord.

5) For all those gathered here, may the Holy Spirit give us fortitude and grace in setting aside earthly cares and following Jesus as intentional disciples, we pray to the Lord.

6) For our faithful departed, especially_________________ as they followed Christ in this life, may they rejoice in his presence forever, we pray to the Lord.
