SUNDAY, JANUARY 19, 2020 2ND SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

PRIEST: Nourished and strengthened by the word of God, we now bring our petitions before our Lord, knowing he hears and answers all our prayers.

1. For the entire people of God, may they be inspired by the witness of holy men and women throughout the ages to embrace the universal call to holiness, we pray to the Lord.

2. For officials in elected office throughout the world, may they be strengthened to lead lives of integrity and service while promoting the common good, we pray to the Lord.

3. For victims of natural disasters and man-made hostilities, may they find strength in the comforting arms of Jesus, we pray to the Lord.

4. For all who are sick and those who have no one to pray for them, may they be comforted in God’s caring love, we pray to the Lord.

5. For our beloved dead, may they come to dwell in the house of the Lord, especially Chin Vu___________________, we pray to the Lord.

· On the Feast of St. Jerome this past fall, Pope Francis dedicated the Third Sunday of Ordinary Time as Word of God Sunday. The first celebration of this annual day will be on January 26th, 2020. You are invited to bring your bibles to Mass next Sunday, January 26th for a special blessing at the end of Mass.

· Next Sunday is the Knights of Columbus monthly Parish Breakfast from 8:30am to 11am. Come to Doyle Hall to enjoy the good food and friendship.

· Everyone is invited to the Tet Festival in Doyle Hall Sunday, January 26th after the 6:30pm Mass.

· If you are celebrating a marriage milestone this year (increments of 5 years; for example 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th etc) stop by the Parish office and sign up to participate on Sunday, February 9th at the 12pm Mass with Blessing of your Marriage.

· Saturday, February 15th at 12:30pm meet up with other members of the parish for “Bowling for Vocations” at Fountain Valley Bowl. You don't need to be a "bowler"…. just join us for the fun, laughter and to support a worthy cause. Tickets are available in the Parish Office.
