SUNDAY, AUGUST 1, 2021 18TH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME

PRIEST: In today’s gospel, Jesus reveals himself as “the bread of life” who satisfies every hunger. Grateful for God’s provision, let us bring our needs before the Lord.

1. For all who serve at the altar of the Lord, may their ministry be renewed and their hearts strengthened through devotion to the Eucharist, we pray to the Lord.

2. For leaders of nations, may they work together with charity and wisdom to find solutions for hunger and famine worldwide, we pray to the Lord.

3. For victims ravaged by fire and heat in the West of these United States and by flood in Belgium and Germany, may they experience God’s abiding care in the loving concern of their governments and their fellow citizens, we pray to the Lord.

4. For all gathered here, nourished by the Body and Blood of Jesus, may we go forth to be bread that is broken and wine that is poured out for others, we pray to the Lord.

5. For the sick of our parish and those who have no one to pray for them, may they be comforted in God’s caring love, we pray to the Lord.

6. For our beloved dead, may they come to dwell in the house of the Lord, especially Fumiko Gollnick, Sharon Bayhurst, Hung Quoc Nguyen, Patrick Phat Duc Vu we pray to the Lord.
