Palm Sunday 2020

SUNDAY, April 5, 2020 Palm Sunday

PRIEST: On the cross at Calvary, Jesus gave his life for the forgiveness of sins. Trusting in his compassion and love, let us bring our needs before the Lord.

1. For the church, may it continue the ministry of Jesus by continually aligning itself with the poor, marginalized, oppressed and vulnerable, we pray to the Lord.

2. For nations torn apart by war and violence, may God raise up leaders who will work for lasting peace, we pray to the Lord.

3. For all members of the Holy Spirit community, may we seek to emulate the humility of Christ and proclaim God’s love to the world in word and deed, we pray to the Lord.

4. For those in our parish community who are nearing death, may they be consoled and supported in their transition from earthly life, we pray to the Lord.

5. For God’s kindness, may it be placed upon those have died and have put their hope in him, we pray to the Lord.

6. Now let us pause and add our own intentions in silence (pause).

For our needs and those of one another, we pray to the Lord.

PRIEST: God of exceeding goodness, you sent your son, Jesus, to reveal your love for the world by his life, death and resurrection. Hear our prayers that by the blood of Christ, we might be united with all creation in singing your praise. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
