Holy Thursday 2020

Thursday, April 9, 2020 Holy Thursday

PRIEST: Confident in God’s sacrificial love for us, let us bring before him our needs and the needs of our world.

1. For bishops, priests, and deacons, in following the example of Jesus, may they offer humble service and care for those they shepherd, we pray to the Lord.

2. For all throughout the world who suffer religious persecution, may they find safe harbor and protection, we pray to the Lord.

3. For all members of the Holy Spirit community, as the Body of Christ, may we strive to serve one another and all whom we encounter with humble, self-giving love, we pray to the Lord.

4. For those in our parish community who are nearing death, may they be consoled and supported in their transition from earthly life, we pray to the Lord.

5. For God’s kindness, may it be placed upon those have died and have put their hope in him, we pray to the Lord.

6. Now let us pause and add our own intentions in silence (pause).

For our needs and those of one another, we pray to the Lord.

PRIEST: God, our source of nourishment and strength, you have given us the eucharistic feast to draw us closer to you and to feed us with yourself. Hear our prayers that we who eat at this table might lead lives of gentle service and abounding love. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
