One of Wilmot's core values is providing personalized support for each child's academic and social-emotional growth. We often rely on our talented paraprofessionals to enhance classroom learning environments. We are currently seeking a community member to support our 4th and 5th grade classrooms during literacy and math from January through May. The primary hours are from 9:40 AM to 1:40 PM, but we are flexible and can adjust the schedule to accommodate the needs of interested candidates. Lastly, we need your support with snacks. Our snacks are delivered once a week by the Mountain Backpacks program. Their mission is to ensure students are “full and focused” by providing snacks as needed, as well as backpacks full of food over weekends for families in need. Unfortunately, we have so many students coming to the office for snacks each day that we don’t have enough to meet the demand. We’ve learned that many students come to the office for snacks not because they don’t have one, but because they prefer the options available in the office. Additionally, some students are coming multiple times a day. To ensure we have enough snacks for students who truly need them, we are making a couple of adjustments. Since all students have access to a free school lunch, we will limit students to one snack per day between the hours of 8:30 AM and 1:45 PM. We also need your help. If possible, please talk with your child(ren) about packing a snack each day and eating what they bring. In addition, if you're able to send in a box of snacks to help replenish our supply, we would greatly appreciate it!
