Kinder Author's Tea
Dear Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. This past week, I had the pleasure of attending the Author's Tea hosted by our kindergarteners. It was wonderful to witness each child's pride as they shared the books they had created and celebrated with tea and cookies alongside their family and friends. A truly joyful occasion!
1st Grade Art
This week is full of more celebrations of learning! Our 4th graders will share their learning about their Colorado Character on Thursday, with a daytime dress rehearsal in the gym and an evening presentation for families at 5:30 pm. Throughout the week, you can also view the district art show at Red Rocks Community College – a big thank you to Mrs. Marcus for chairing this wonderful showcase of student creativity! Then, on Friday from 5-6 pm, our Wilmot Warblers choir will perform their final concert of the year. We are incredibly proud of the dedication our students, Ms. Abby, and Mrs. Karford have shown in making our choir such a fun and successful experience.
This week also marks the start of our state assessments, the Colorado Measures of Academic Success. To help your child perform their best, please ensure they get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and arrive on time each day. We kindly ask parents to avoid absences (except for illness) during the three-week testing period from Monday, April 7th, through Thursday, April 24th.
Our final assessment day is Monday, April 28th, where students will attend for one 2-hour block, either from 9-11 am or 1-3 pm. We appreciate your support in ensuring all students remain at school for the entire 2-hour block and ask that you avoid early pick-ups. A sign-up for these time slots will be sent out next weekend.
As you may know, Ms. Abby will not be returning to Wilmot next year. She wanted to share that her time here has been her favorite years of teaching, thanks to the incredible staff, community, and students. She plans to complete her master's degree in voice pedagogy and teach lessons from her home studio. We are delighted to announce that Kailyn Pashman, a Wilmot alum, will be joining us as our new music teacher in the fall. Kailyn impressed us with her passion for elementary music instruction and her commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. She's excited to continue the innovative music program Ms. Abby built while adding her own unique ideas and musical enthusiasm. Please join me in wishing Ms. Abby all the best in her next adventure and warmly welcoming Ms. Pashman to the Wilmot staff!
Thank you for being a part of the Wilmot Wildcats family! I look forward to seeing you at school this week.

First Grade Field Trip - Denver Zoo. Monday, April 7th from 9:15am-1:45pm
Kinder Field Trip - Denver Zoo. Friday, April 11th from 10am-2pm
Do you plan to volunteer at Wilmot, chaperone one of our filed trips, and/or be a guest reader? Please take a moment to fill out the Jeffco Person of Interest and Disclosure forms below.
Both forms can be returned to Mrs. Allen in the main office. We also ask parents to please consider paying the $17.50 cost we incur for the background check.
If parents have completed a background check with other organizations, they may provide the office with those results instead of going through the POI process.
Please help our 3rd through 5th grade students do their best on our CMAS testing that begins this week.
Get quality sleep.
Eat a healthy breakfast.
Try to arrive at school on time. Exams begin at 8am and students will not be able to join the testing group once it has began.
There is one session per grade level/per day. The majority of sessions are AM, however 4th & 5th grade will have PM sessions on Tuesdays and Thurdays due to Band & Orchestra.
Band & Orchestra will held in the Wildcat Room upstairs and/or the Music Room this week.
Please try to avoid scheduling appointments, as it is very difficult to remove students from assessments once they have started.
Thank you for all of your help and understanding.

Thank you for your understanding!

The 1st Day School Supply Shop for 2025-2026 school year is ready.
Here is the link where parents can purchase their back to school supply boxes for the 2025-2026 school year: https://1stdayschoolsupplies.com/gs/19861
This is a one stop shop for all the needed school supplies (except teacher wish list items). A portion of each kit sold goes back to the PTA. Last year this effort raised a total of $518.80 back to the PTA so it's a great way to get your school supplies bought all at once and contribute to PTA fundraising efforts.
Each spring we engage in a very deliberate and thoughtful process involving classroom teachers, special education providers (if applicable), the AMPs team, paraprofessionals, and administration to make class lists. We consider each student individually and the dynamic of the classroom, with the goal of creating a balance of strengths and areas for growth across the classroom community. Parents are a valuable source of information in this process! We’ve created the form linked below so you can provide information about how your child learns best. Please note this is not intended to be a teacher request form. You can, however, request that your child be placed with or separated from one other student. Please understand that while we do our best to honor those requests, we cannot guarantee it because there are so many factors that go into making class lists.
RESPONSES WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM SUNDAY 3/30/25 THROUGH FRIDAY 4/11/25.
Evergreen Parks and Rec is collaborating with Jeffco Open Space to change the fields behind Wilmot. Work on the parking lot began on Monday 3/10. During this initial phase, they will be:
Removing roughly 20’ of chain-link fencing between the parking lot and current dirt road.
Installing temporary curb ramps to help accommodate for two way traffic over the current sidewalk/parking lot curb until a more permanent solution is established.
Expanding the width of the dirt road to allow for two way traffic.
Creating and establishing an entrance/exit to the new parking area.
Installing a median and signage within the parking area to establish a flow of traffic.
Once this work is complete, they will let us know next steps, including when the parking area will be ready for us to use.
We are desperate for Wilmot Watch volunteers! Please help support Wilmot when you are able. In order to volunteer for Wildcat Watch, parents must fill out the person of interest forms.
Let’s keep the Wildcat spirit going strong! 🐾 Who will be our top volunteers and earn a reward for their child/grandchild? Will a new Wildcat rise to the challenge? Let’s find out! 😺
Thank you for everything you do to keep our Wilmot community thriving!
Stay wild, stay wonderful!
