Hello Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you and your family have had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! I am thankful that our school received a super deep cleaning while students and staff were away so that we can have a healthy start back to school. In addition to the deep cleaning, the Wilmot staff is prioritizing hand washing frequently throughout the day in an effort to keep germs at bay.
On Tuesday morning this week, you will receive a communication from me regarding the new start times that will be in effect beginning in August of the 23-24 school year. On Friday of this week, we are excited to have our first annual Holiday Craft Market! This event is open to children (they will have an opportunity to visit with their class), parents, and to the community at large. Please see the “Look Book” link below for more information.
Please also see the important information below regarding a new procedure and timeline for preschool enrollment, the last day to donate to Coats for Colorado, and happenings around our community.

Did you know that Coats for Colorado was the first coat drive in the country? Since 1982, Dependable Cleaners has collected, cleaned, and donated over 2 million coats to people in need in the Denver area. There are 137 organizations in Denver that benefit from this coat collection. Each year they are very grateful for the coats we bring in so that people can be warm this winter.
The last day to donate a coats has changed. It will now be Monday, November 28. This is the day that we come back from Thanksgiving break. So please go through your closets and donate what you can to provide some comfort for people in need.
We have a great collection of coats in our front hallway! Thank you for your generosity!

ENC has donated over $329,950 directly to public schools since May of 2009.

Evaluation of a sick child must consider which diseases are currently circulating among students, staff, and the community. Known exposure to cases or an outbreak of a contagious disease (including but not limited to those listed here), even without a confirmed diagnosis, may necessitate more stringent return to school requirements.
During Colorado's ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, children and staff who have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should receive testing, and follow the COVID-19 isolation guidance until testing is completed or if they test positive. If the individual tests negative for COVID-19, the individual should then follow the recommendations for their disease or symptoms using the below guidance. There are four main reasons to keep children and adults at home:
1. The child or staff is at risk of infecting others with COVID-19 or another contagious illness, either because of symptoms or recent close contact.
2. The child or staff member does not feel well enough to take part in usual activities. For example, a child is overly tired, fussy or will not stop crying.
3. A child needs more care than teachers and staff can give while still caring for the other children.
4. The child or staff member has symptoms or an illness is on this list, and staying home is required.
As Wilmot Elementary PTA, we enrich your child’s learning, support classroom teachers, and enhance the entire student body with innovative tools and technologies. To do this, we throw parties with a purpose, take traditions and create memories, raise money to make a difference and engage in programs that create powerful connections to the school. We are a team of parents who collaborate with school staff, working together to create a culture that celebrates our entire community. And it’s our unique mountain community where our neighbors are our teachers and our parents are their supporters that is the key to our success. So whether your child attends an event or joins a program, know that the PTA is here to make a difference for every child at Wilmot Elementary in Evergreen, Colorado.
Officer terms on the PTA are limited to 2 years and as such we will need a new President and Treasurer for the 2023-2024 and following school years.
The people in the current positions will still be parents at the school and available for help and questions.
Please contact wilmotpta@gmail.com if you are interested in learning more about this.
The Evergreen Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting our annual Santa Breakfast again. We have 4 dates this year and would love to have our community and Wilmot families join us.
