Music Performances
Hello Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend! Thank you to the kindergarten, first and second grade families for coming to watch your child’s music performance this week. Ms. Abby and the students put a great deal of time and effort into making these performances a success. The way Ms. Abby teaches music is unique. She gives students the opportunity to play many different instruments, allows them to choose songs that they know and like, and gives them the opportunity to learn and express themselves through writing their own songs! The evening performances for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are this Friday, April 21st. Please see below for additional information about the specific times for each grade level.
I also want to thank Mrs. Marcus for inspiring our students' creativity and for the time she invests in preparing and displaying our students' work in the hallways, as well as in local and district art shows! Be sure to take a look at the students’ artwork when you visit Wilmot or go to one of the community art shows. Please see below for more information on those.
As I’ve shared for the past couple of weeks, each spring the Wilmot staff engages in a very deliberate and thoughtful process to determine classroom placements for next year. We consider each student individually and the dynamic of the classroom, with the goal of creating a balance of strengths and areas for growth across the classroom community. Parents are a valuable source of information in this process. If you would like to share information about your child’s strengths, areas for growth, and learning style, please fill out this form: Student Information 23-24 before Friday, April 21st.
Coming up on April 28th, there is no school for students so teachers can attend professional development to learn about the math program that we will be adopting next school year, Illustrative Math. Some of our teachers have been piloting the program this year and have found that it to be very effective in increasing student’s conceptual understanding of math operations. Evergreen Middle School will also be adopting Illustrative Math so there will be a continuum of learning from kindergarten through 8th grade.
Kindergarten Zoo Field Trip: Friday, April 21st.
You're Invited - Thursday, April 20th
5th grade families of Future EMS Rams are invited to come and hear information about the transition to middle school. We are excited to share information about programs, curriculum, and the unique experience of 6th grade at EMS.
Families will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the newly remodeled building.
Future Ram Night begins at 5:30 pm in the Gym at EMS. After the opening presentation, families can stay for as long or as little as they need to feel comfortable about the transition headed into the summer vacation.
Evergreen Jr MTB Team is seeking feedback to help shape the inaugural bike club rides starting this spring. This is a great way for you and your kid(s) to have fun on bikes, make new friends, and learn about the different areas to ride together in the community. Check out https://www.evergreenbikeclub.org/jr-mtb-team for a quick survey.
Come meet us and chat at the Evergreen HS MTB Team Film Festival on April 21. EHS has invited Wilmot youth to attend as well. The link for that event is http://www.evergreenhsmtb.com/film-fest.html

Here are some quick informational points about Hazel Health
It is short-term therapy. They provide an average of 6-8 sessions. If a student needs continued support after that time, they will assist the family in finding and transitioning to a long-term therapist.
Parents or mental health providers at school can make the referral.
Hazel will reach out to parents within 48 hours of the referral
All services occur virtually
They do not offer family therapy
Thank you Miss Abby!
