Battle of the Books
Hello Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
We can feel the excitement of kids as spring break approaches! Last week a group of 5th grade students led by Ms. Mihalik participated in the Battle of the Books. While our team didn’t make it to the second round this year, they have a lot to celebrate! They each read over 2,600 pages, learned note taking skills, and had a lot of fun working together.
This week our 4th graders are presenting their Colorado Characters. On Thursday they will present for other students from 10:05-10:50 and then for their parents in the evening from 6-8. My children still talk about how much fun it was to participate in this 4th grade tradition and I treasure the pictures!
On Friday, your child brought home their trimester 2 report card and a fee statement. Please sign and return the report card envelope tomorrow. If you haven’t already done so, you can write a check for any outstanding fees and tuck it into the report card envelope. Checks should be made payable to Wilmot. Fees can also be paid by logging into the parent portal via the link sent in the emailed fee statement. We really appreciate your attention to getting these fees paid. Any unpaid fees come directly out of Wilmot’s budget and, thus, decrease what we can spend on paraprofessional support and materials that support learning for all students.
Please note a few deadlines and save the date information in my email this week. Tomorrow is the last day to order a Day Without Hate t-shirt and it is spring picture day. There is no school for students on Friday so teachers can participate in planning and professional development. When we return from spring break, we have the talent show on March 31st, upcoming music performances in April, and the spring dance on May 12th. I hope you and your family have a wonderful spring break! You can expect my next call and email on Sunday, March 26th.
Monday, March 13th will be Spring Photos. Photographers will be here in the morning to take class photos and "personality" photos for families who place orders. Order forms were sent home last Friday in Friday Folders.
Day Without Hate is coming at the end of April.
Order forms for t-shirts were sent home in Friday Folders last week. The shirts are only $6 each. If you would like to purchase one, please return your form and cash or check made out to Wilmot Elementary by TOMORROW, Monday, March 13th. We have attached the order form here as well.
