Hello Wonderful Wilmot Families,
I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! A huge thank you to everyone participating in the Read-A-Thon—you are absolutely crushing it. The event ends tomorrow, Monday, April 6. At that time, we will calculate the final minutes read and total funds raised. We are thrilled to share that, thanks to your efforts, the money raised by fifth grade for this legacy project, and a generous donation from the PTA, we will be installing an awesome climbing wall in the gym before next school year. I also want to give a big shout out to Mrs. Holtmann for organizing the Avalanche Hockey Clinic last week. Our students had a fantastic time!

Way to go Wilmot!
This week is pretty packed. From CMAS testing to various grade-level events, here is what’s happening:
CMAS Testing: 3rd–5th grade students begin state assessments. Please help them do their best by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and have a healthy breakfast.
4th Grade: "Colorado Characters" daytime and evening presentations - see below for more details.
Kindergarten: Hikes and Author’s Tea.
2nd Grade: In-house field trip.
Community: Sources of Strength event at EHS.
We need your help with the Bus Loop: Our bus drivers are struggling to safely and efficiently drop students off and pick them up due to parent vehicles parked in the bus loop. To keep our students safe and our buses on schedule, we need your help:
Morning Drop-off: If you arrive before 7:35 AM, please use the parking lot drop-off line rather than the bus loop.
Early Pickup: If you are picking up your child early, please park in the main lot unless you will be departing before 2:00 PM.
Each spring, our staff engages in a thoughtful, collaborative process to create balanced class lists for the upcoming school year. Your input is a vital part of this process! If you would like to share insights on how your child learns best, please complete the Student Information for Class Lists google form.
Focus: This is a venue to share information about your child’s learning style, not specific teacher requests.
Peer Requests: You may request that your child be placed with or separated from one other student. Please note that we will do our best to honor these requests but it is not guaranteed.
Deadline: Responses will be accepted through Sunday, April 19.
Please take a few minutes to scroll through the rest of the Wilmot Weekly for more updates from the school and the Evergreen community.
Thank you,
Stephany Fritz

Friday afternoon - 2nd Grade In School Field Trip - Busy Like a Bee!
Hi Families!
Beginning tomorrow, April 6th, Wilmot starts CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) state testing for all 3rd - 5th graders. Most students will follow the schedule posted below for their testing. However, if you have a student on a 504 or an IEP with extended time or small group accommodations, they will be testing outside of the room and possibly at a different time.
To make testing go as smoothly as possible, we ask that parents try to have their student to school on time, ensure they are well rested, and that they have had a good breakfast. Please only keep your child home if they are sick. If you need to take your student out for an appointment, please try to avoid the testing time. If your child must miss one of the assessments, we will plan a time for them to make up the test during the testing window. Thank you for your partnership!
Fourth grade is excited to share their Colorado Character projects with students and families this week. There will be two different opportunities for viewing. We hope to see you all there.
9:00-9:45am - School classroom viewing in the gym (Parents who are unable to attend in the afternoon are welcome to join.)
4:30-5:30pm - Family/Parent viewing in the gym
READ-A-THON SUCCESS
We are in the home stretch of our READ-A-THON! Good work so far! The class with the top minutes will win extra recess and a popsicle party so keep logging your minutes and collecting donations of support through Monday, April 6th!
CONGRATULATIONS YOUNG WRITERS!
Congrats to all the young writers who participated in the Young Writers Conference last week. We tripled our participation from last year! We are so grateful for all of the volunteers (especially Ms. Manley!!!!) who make this magical event come alive!
Library Book March Madness Champion!
Our Library Book March Madness Champion book was Don’t Trust Fish! Think about which books should enter the tournament next year and let Ms. Anderson know!
THANK YOU!
Thank you to all the parents who visited our library last week for the Read-A-Thon to read with students and enjoy the library space. We appreciate you and your continued support of creating a culture of reading at Wilmot!

Mrs. Marcus was able to book a last-minute art show at Evergreen Public Library for Wilmot students. They are awesome for giving us a second showing this year and we are so excited for the students who get to be celebrated for their hard work and creativity. This show is all our choice, or student-directed, pieces, so Mrs. Marcus is especially proud to show these original designs that the students made from idea to final product. Pop in the library through the month of April to see the show in the Children's Section.
Here are the students in the show: Evergreen, Naomi, Adelynn, Lulu, Brielle, Ruffin, Quinn, Tristan, Emmett, Rhett, Caroline, Noah, Catherine, Cambria, Parker, and Fernleigh.
5th Grade Dollar Sale will be happening every Friday! This sale will take place at the front entrance of the school at the end of the day on Friday and will include a variety of items and goodies. Additional donations are also accepted.
The money collected will support our 5th Grade Legacy project. We will use this money to build a bouldering wall in the Wilmot Gym for classes to enjoy for years to come. We look forward to improving our school and leaving behind a memorable legacy from the graduating 5th grade class of 2026. Thank you for supporting our cause.
Security and Preparedness Committee Volunteers
If you are interested in joining the PTA-SAC Security and Preparedness Committee, we are looking for volunteers who are interested attending mountain area/district/state advocacy opportunities, refining processes for PTA-sponsored events, and developing ideas for enhancing the Wildcat Watch program in the 2026-2027 school year. Just respond here if you want to connect! Also, if you or someone you know is an expert in security and preparedness and would be willing to speak to us, we are continuously learning and would love to learn more.
