Wilmot kids doing their part to keep our neighborhood clean!
Hello Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend. Thank you to the third through fifth grade families for coming to our evening music performance on Friday. I would also like to thank Miss. Abby for creating opportunities for our kids to shine and making music such a fun learning experience!
This week is quite busy! Mileage Club is starting up again this Tuesday and will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next four 4 weeks. Kids can run around a course at recess and volunteers log their laps. As they go, they can earn little running feet on a necklace to keep track of their mileage. Ms. Kristi is our faculty sponsor, but we rely on parent volunteers to make it all work. We need two volunteers per block of time to help keep track of laps and hand out running feet. Please consider signing up for one or more of the blocks of time on this sheet: Mileage Club Volunteers.
On Wednesday, we are excited to host our first annual Senior Send-off Breakfast to honor the graduating seniors who attended Wilmot. We can’t wait to welcome these students back and hear about their plans for the future! Wednesday is also Administrative Professionals Day so if you appreciate Ms. Carrie or Ms. Carly in our Wilmot office, please be sure to tell them! Last, but certainly not least, the Wilmot Warblers concert is scheduled for Wednesday evening starting at 5:00.
This Thursday, April 27th is Day Without Hate. It was started 15 years ago by a group of students from another Jeffco school, Standley Lake High School. These students were tired of hearing about bullying and hate in our schools so they decided to dedicate one day every year to promote unity, respect, and nonviolence. On this day we are reminded of the power of our words to lift each other up and of the importance of setting aside differences to be kind, caring and compassionate. If your child ordered a Day without Hate shirt, please help them remember to wear it to school on Thursday. If they didn’t order a shirt, simply wearing a white t-shirt also shows support for the Day Without Hate message.
Coming up on Friday, April 28th, there is no school for students so teachers can attend professional development. Then just like that, it’s May! Thursday, May 4th is a late start so the bell will ring at 10:45. As we near the end of the school year, teachers need to collect data about your child’s progress towards grade level benchmarks and standards. There are two modified contact days on Friday, May 5th and on Monday, May 8th. Please follow this link to sign your child up for a block of time to complete their assessments: Assessment Day Sign Up. The sign up is best viewed on a computer. If that isn’t possible, please be sure to scroll left to right to make sure you are signing up for a time with the right teacher.
Please take just a moment to scroll down to a message from Ms. Abby, as well as information about summer camp opportunities for our preschoolers, middle school information for our 5th graders, the spring dance, ordering school supplies, and community opportunities.
Wilmot Warblers
Now that all of our classroom performances have concluded, it's time to enjoy our Wilmot Warblers! Please join us for one or both of their performances next week.

Hello Wonderful Wilmot Families,
I am creating a fun interactive end of school unit on The Greatest Showman. We will watch part of the movie and then sing and dance to songs from what we just watched. For example, we would watch the first 40 minutes and then the next class we would dance to the Greatest Show and sing a million dreams. For grades K-2, this will look a little different. They will only watch a few of the musical numbers including The Greatest Show, Million Dreams, Rewrite the stars, This is ME, and From Now On. In grades 3-5 I plan to show the entire movie. This movie is rated PG so I need your permission to show this movie. Since I teach everyone in the school, please email me only if you DO NOT give me permission to show the movie and I will give them an alternative assignment. Thank you!
Abby
