Dear Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you are enjoying the extra hour of weekend as we return to standard time. This past week was a busy one with Halloween. Thank you to everyone who came out to watch the costume parade and join in the party fun! This week we have election day on Tuesday, the Craft Market on Friday, and Veterans Day on Saturday. Please scroll down to access the link or QR code to see which vendors will be at the Craft Market. Every vendor will have inexpensive items that kids can purchase as gifts for family members. The class shopping schedule is shown below in case you would like to accompany your child. The craft market is also open to the public from 2:45-4:00 on Friday.
This year to celebrate Veterans Day, our new music teacher, Kim Shama-Hanna, reached out to both Elk Run and the Life Care center to plan a recognition of the elderly veterans in our community who are not able to come to school to be honored. Some of the Wilmot Warblers will be joining her at these facilities on Saturday, November 11th to sing patriotic songs and bring gifts to the residents.
Hopefully, you’ve received the program information for our annual Original Works order through Mrs. Marcus. This program allows parents to order a variety of items with their child’s artwork on it for holiday gifts. The order deadline is coming up quickly. Please email Mrs. Marcus at emarcus@jeffco.k12.co.us if you have any questions.
There are a couple of important dates coming up that are changes to the original school calendar for this year. On Monday, November 13th there is no school for students. This is a teacher work day for elementary students only. Middle and high school have a typical schedule on this day. In addition, Friday, December 8th will be a modified contact day in order to allow teachers to complete required mid year assessments. You will have an opportunity to sign up for a time right after the Thanksgiving break.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at school!

Our lost and found bins are overflowing! Please take a moment when you are in the building to look through all of our items. The lost and found is located down near the cafeteria. Small items and jewelry are kept in the office. All items not claimed prior to Winter Break will be donated.
Mr. Weedman would like to share with our community that The Denver Philharmonic Orchestra is offering a special discount Promo Code: CONIFER for their concert on November 10, 2023.
Kids 12 and under can get in free and the promo code allows for discounted adult tickets at $5.00 each (usually $30).

Please see this attached letter from our milk provider, Meadow Gold Dairies re: shortages we have been experiencing and will likely continue to experience into the holiday season. We will continue to keep school sites up to date as best we can as the situation evolves.
Our next project will be our annual coat drive for Coats for Colorado from October 19-November 30. Coats are being collected in bins under the CATs bulletin board in the front hall. They will be periodically taken to Dependable Cleaners in Bergen, where they will be cleaned and given to families in need. We will keep a running tally of our total number of coats collected. Thank you for supporting our efforts to keep kids and families warm this winter!
Calling all Watch D.O.G.S.! We are SO thankful to all of our wonderful Watch D.O.G. volunteers that help with drop-off and pick-up every day. These volunteers play a vital role in keeping traffic flowing smoothly and kiddos safe in the cross walks. Please consider signing up for shifts in support of our students. This is a wonderful way to get to know our community and get involved with your kiddos.

Mental, social and emotional wellness of students is a priority that we share with our community and one that we are addressing with layers of support including school counselors, social emotional learning specialists, school psychologists, social workers along with partnerships with outside agencies like Hazel Health.
This year, we continue our partnership with Hazel Health’s Telehealth services to provide a free telehealth extension of mental and physical health support for Jeffco students enrolled at district-managed schools accessed at home with a parent/guardian. Charter school families should connect with their student's school to learn more.
Parents/guardians may access these services on behalf of your student by visiting this webpage and following the instructions for – Steps to Access Care.
Why Should Families Take Advantage of Hazel Health Services?
Our priority is for students to be healthy and ready to learn. Hazel Health connects you with healthcare providers through virtual telehealth, so your student can get the care they need from your home.
Quick and easy access to a self-referral system with minimal or no wait times.
If your student is suffering from anxiety, depression, grief/loss, bullying, academic stress or more, Hazel Health therapists can help them!
All Hazel Health providers serving Jeffco students possess the appropriate Colorado credential for their profession, whether to practice medicine (i.e. medical doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician’s assistant) or provide mental health services
We encourage you to take advantage of these no-cost Hazel Health Services for your student’s well-being. You can access this service right now by visiting our webpage to learn more and begin the referral process.
