We had such a great week at Wilmot! We started the week with fun Halloween festivities including our parade around the bus loop. Our Halloween parade has a long-standing tradition and I look forward to it every year. Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents and other spectators who came out to cheer for our kids in costumes and to everyone who stayed to make the parties a success. The involvement of our parents and community is part of what makes Wilmot such a great place to learn and grow!
The week ended with some excitement as well - just getting to school was an adventure on Friday due to the closure of Buffalo Park Road. Thank you for your patience and trust as we responded to a fluid situation. Rest assured that your child's safety is always our first priority!
On Monday, we will be meeting in Den Groups first thing in the morning. We will also gather to honor our veterans on Friday, November 11th. Please see below for additional information about these and other events below.
Thanks for your support!

Your students have been hard at work creating beautiful pieces of art in art class. One of those pieces was included in our Original Works yearly fundraiser and now, the Original Works Gallery is open! You can order your student's artwork printed on many different items such as mugs, shirts, bags, and calendars through this awesome company. Please check your child’s Friday folder for a flier with all of the ordering instructions.
Please place your online order by November 17th . Orders placed by November 17th will be shipped to school and will arrive around December 9th (depending on UPS delivery times). Orders placed after November 17 will not arrive until January. Do your holiday shopping now and feel good that you are supporting our art program. 33% of every order comes back to the art department. This year Wilmot will be partnering with the American Legion to write letters to homeless veterans in Colorado. There are at least 600 homeless veterans living in the Denver area. The American Legion is preparing care packages to be delivered to these veterans in honor of their service to this country. Wilmot students will be writing letters of thanks that will be included in the care packages. On Veteran’s Day, we will have an assembly in the morning where students will read some of the letters they’ve written and honor some local veterans. If someone in your family is a veteran who would like to attend, please reach out to Mrs. Benton to let her know and to receive additional details about the assembly. linda.benton@jeffco.k12.co.us.
There are some informative fliers attached below for your reference, including opportunities for free and low cost vaccinations for kids and adults. I want to assure you that we have not had any cases of lice at school - that information is just for your reference.

As Wilmot Elementary PTA, we enrich your child’s learning, support classroom teachers, and enhance the entire student body with innovative tools and technologies. To do this, we throw parties with a purpose, take traditions and create memories, raise money to make a difference and engage in programs that create powerful connections to the school. We are a team of parents who collaborate with school staff, working together to create a culture that celebrates our entire community. And it’s our unique mountain community where our neighbors are our teachers and our parents are their supporters that is the key to our success. So whether your child attends an event or joins a program, know that the PTA is here to make a difference for every child at Wilmot Elementary in Evergreen, Colorado.
Officer terms on the PTA are limited to 2 years and as such we will need a new President and Treasurer for the 2023-2024 and following school years.
The people in the current positions will still be parents at the school and available for help and questions.
Please contact wilmotpta@gmail.com if you are interested in learning more about this.
Join mountain caregivers for the Circle of Security Parenting class. It’s a reflective, relationship-based parenting program. It’s geared towards parents of all ages- but especially early and middle childhood. This group is free to all members of the community. Please see the attached flyer for more details and to register.
