Hello Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I’d like to start by wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Wilmot moms! I hope you are enjoying a wonderful day of appreciation for all of the things you do to keep your family healthy and happy!
I also want to say a huge thank you to our Wilmot PTA for the spring dance on Friday! We really appreciate all of the time, effort and donations that go into making the dance and the silent auction a success. It was such a great turnout and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time.
This upcoming week is packed with multiple field trips, the last couple days of mileage club, a beginning band and orchestra concert, and Evergreen High School graduation. One of the perks of being a mountain area principal is having the opportunity to attend the EHS graduation ceremony each year at Red Rocks. I love to see our former Wilmot students and their families celebrating this rite of passage and taking the next step towards a bright future.
The Wilmot Weekly has some really important information this week including required vaccinations for our 5th graders moving to middle school, information about picking up medications from our health room before summer break, social emotional support over the summer, camps, and community resources. We also linked information about the West Jeff Baseball initiative to improve the (dirt) area behind Wilmot, adjacent to the big playground. During the school day our Wilmot kids could play on the fields for recess and after school they could be used for baseball, soccer, and other intramural sports. It is a really exciting project that we hope the community will embrace and support!

As the year comes to a close, the health room will need all medications picked up by the last day of school. All medications left in the health room will be disposed of according to Jeffco policy. Please read THIS FLYER for additional information.
Our school nurse sent home a paper copy of the linked document HERE to 5th grade families. The digital version has several useful links for families that would like additional information.
About The Project: “Building community through baseball".
Community Connectivity:
Project benefits broader community by giving us more playable fields
Gives Wilmot students a green space opportunity for outdoor play.
Formalizes the trail connecting Evergreen High School and Wilmot Elementary.
Utilization of a 4-field baseball/softball complex in central Evergreen improves the distances needed to drive for south side athletes, and centralizes WJBB activities
4 fields would allow for potential tournament hosting as parking is also adequate.
Calling all Watch Dogs! As we near the end of the school year, we are in need of additional watch dog help. Please consider signing up for one of the watch dog time slots available these last couple of weeks!
Mileage Club will finish up on Thursday this week. Kids can run around a course at recess and volunteers log their laps. As they go, they can earn little running tags on a necklace to keep track of their mileage. Ms. Kristi is our faculty sponsor, but we rely on parent volunteers to make it all work. We need two volunteers per block of time to help keep track of laps and hand out running feet. Please consider signing up for one or more of the blocks of time on this sheet: Mileage Club Volunteers.
ROBOTICS!
Is your student interested in robotics, engineering, or coding? What if it involved Lego? As we wrap up the school year, we are looking to gauge interest in future opportunities for your child(ren) in the coming year. If you have any interest in participating, please follow the appropriate link below based on your child’s grade next year.
