Thank you to our PTA and community for an amazing Fun Run!
Dear Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
We had a great Fun Run day last week. The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful and our kids had such a great time running with our Wildcat mascot, collecting bracelets and cheering one another on! Thank you to the parents who were able to be there and participate in the fun. The next step is to contact friends and family to collect the donations they pledged per lap or as a flat amount. Please submit donations via the Wilmot Fun Run website by Monday, October 21st. The prize day will be on Wednesday, October 30th. Thank you in advance for your support in making this event a success!
The Book Fair continues through Tuesday of this week. It will have special hours during the first two days of parent teacher conferences - staying open until 4:30pm. If you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to follow this link to sign up for parent teacher conferences between Monday 10/14 and Thursday 10/17. Thursday 10/17 is the first day of fall break for students and teachers will be conducting parent teacher conferences in the morning. Friday 10/18 is fall break for students and staff.
Please take a few minutes to look through the rest of the Wilmot Weekly. The theme for the Reflections competition this year is Accepting Imperfection. This program is a great way for students to showcase their creativity and the theme fits so well with the lessons students learn about celebrating mistakes as a way to grow. If your child would like to participate, please fill out the Google form before October 22nd. Also in the Weekly is information about our new cell phone/smart watch policy, the first community Trunk or Treat being held at EHS, picture orders, and Wilmot wear among other things.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing you at school this week!

Thank you for helping to support our amazing teachers!
It was a beautiful day for our annual Fun Run last Thursday! Thank you to all of the parents who cheered on our students as they ran. The next step is to gather donations from friends and family who pledged to support your child with a dollar amount per lap or as a flat donation. You can access the website at: Wilmot Run 4 Funds
At Wilmot, we believe that school is for learning. We also believe that personal cell phones, bluetooth headphones, and smart watches can be a major distraction to our learning environment and have a negative effect on our children’s brain development if used inappropriately. That being said, we understand and respect that families choose these items for their children due to safety concerns and convenience.
As such, we are implementing an Away for the Day policy. The expectation is that phones are off and in a child's backpack from bell to bell (7:40am - 2:35pm). We want to continue to teach our students how to use technology appropriately and appreciate your support at home.
If your student uses their cell phone at an inappropriate time, an adult will bring it to the main office and they can pick it up at the end of the day.
If we see the phone a second time, we will call home and let you know.
Anytime after that, parents will need to come in to pick up the phone for their child.
We have also seen an increase in inappropriate smartwatch usage. At this time, smartwatches are allowed to be worn for telling time, but not for communication during the school day. Smartwatches will be confiscated in the manner described for cell phones if students are using them for communication purposes. Please also note that wireless headphones are also not allowed during the school day.
Thank you for supporting us in keeping students focused on learning during the school day.
Wilmot will be having an assembly to honor veterans in our community on Veteran's Day, November 11th, at 8:00am. As part of our assembly we would like to recognize Veterans in our community. If you are Veteran and would like to attend our assembly, please fill out this form. A Wilmot student will introduce you and you will be honored with other Veterans by our Girls Scouts and Wilmot Warblers. Thank you for your service!

We have some exciting news to share about our Watch D.O.G. program!
Program Name Change
We're updating the name from Watch D.O.G.S. to Wildcat Watch. This new name better reflects our inclusive community and aligns perfectly with our school. We are still doing our contest each month to reward the classroom/s with the most Wildcat Watch volunteers.
Volunteers Needed
We're still in need of volunteers for the rest of this week and throughout the month. Your support is crucial in keeping our students safe during drop-off and pick-up times, as well as checking the school's exterior doors after classes begin.
Sign-Up Updates: We will be updating the sign-up forms to reflect our new name, Wildcat Watch. Keep an eye out for these changes, and feel free to sign up for any dates that fit your schedule.

Join the Fun—Wear the Wildcat Mascot Suit!
To add some extra fun and school spirit, we're inviting any interested volunteers to wear the Wildcat mascot during their shifts! We already have one enthusiastic parent doing this, and the kids love it. If you'd like to join in, send us an email.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out via email to wilmotwatchdogs@gmail.com.
