Wilmot Warblers Daytime Performance
Hello Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you were able to enjoy a long weekend with your child/children! Teachers had a very productive work day on Friday learning about our new math program. We have two event schedule changes this week due to the snow day last week. The Wilmot Warbler’s concert is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, May 1st and we rescheduled the Senior Send Off Breakfast for Wednesday, May 3rd at 8:00 am.
This week marks the beginning of the Evergreen Lake Project and the westbound Hwy 74 detour. The increase in travel time is expected to be approximately 10 minutes. Please see this flyer for more information about the impact now and through the summer: Evergreen Lake North Trail. Due to congestion and detours, our bus arrival and departure times will be impacted.
We also have some schedule changes coming up later this week. On Thursday, May 4th there is a district wide 2 hour late start so our bell will ring at 10:45. On Thursday evening, please join us in person or virtually for a meeting about improvements to the "fields" on the south side of Wilmot. West Jeff Baseball will be sharing their plans for this area at 6:00 in the Wilmot cafeteria or online at meet.google.com/mqb-zhti-rxr .
On Friday, May 5th and Monday, May 8th there are two modified contact days so teachers can collect data about your child’s progress towards grade level benchmarks and standards. Please visit the Calendar Reminders section below for the link to sign your child up for an assessment appointment with their teacher. Be careful to scroll all the way left to right to ensure you are signing up for an appointment with the right teacher.
We are really hoping to continue Mileage Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next three weeks, but we need your help to make it work. We must have enough volunteers to provide support with supervising and cheering students on, logging laps, and handing out the little running feet. Please see below for more information and a link to sign up.
If you are wondering about child care options available for preschool through 5th students next year, please take a moment to scroll down to the flyers from Rocky Mountain Kids - RMK. There will be a virtual informational meeting on Thursday, May 11th and there will also be representatives from Rocky Mountain Kids available in person to answer questions at our Spring Dance on Friday, May 12th. I will provide more details about the virtual meeting in my message next week. In addition to the opportunities provided through RMK, EPRD will be offering activity based transportation and care next year. I will share more details about their offerings as soon as they are available. Also below you can find information about summer camp opportunities for our preschoolers, middle school information for our 5th graders, the spring dance, ordering school supplies, and community opportunities.
Thursday, May 4th: District Late Start - Bell Rings at 10:45am
Friday, May 5th and Monday, May 8th: Assessment Days, Students attend only during their scheduled assessment time. Click on the following link to sign-up! Assessment Day Sign Up
Mileage Club started last Tuesday and will continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next four 4 weeks. Kids can run around a course at recess and volunteers log their laps. As they go, they can earn little running tags on a necklace to keep track of their mileage. Ms. Kristi is our faculty sponsor, but we rely on parent volunteers to make it all work. We need two volunteers per block of time to help keep track of laps and hand out running feet. Please consider signing up for one or more of the blocks of time on this sheet: Mileage Club Volunteers.
Wilmot is going to partner with two organizations to provide care and activity based enrichment for our preschool through 5th grade students next school year. Rocky Mountain Kids is going to provide beforecare and aftercare for our preschool through 5th grade students at Wilmot each day and during school breaks. Please see the linked flyers below with details and pricing.
Rocky Mountain Kids will also be holding a virtual question & answer session for families on May 11th. Details and the link for that will be included in next weeks message.

REMINDER: Due to the snow day last week, our Wilmot Warblers concert has been rescheduled to this Monday, May 1st at 5:00pm.
Hello Wonderful Wilmot Families,
I am creating a fun interactive end of school unit on The Greatest Showman. We will watch part of the movie and then sing and dance to songs from what we just watched. For example, we would watch the first 40 minutes and then the next class we would dance to the Greatest Show and sing a million dreams. For grades K-2, this will look a little different. They will only watch a few of the musical numbers including The Greatest Show, Million Dreams, Rewrite the stars, This is ME, and From Now On. In grades 3-5 I plan to show the entire movie. This movie is rated PG so I need your permission to show this movie. Since I teach everyone in the school, please email me only if you DO NOT give me permission to show the movie and I will give them an alternative assignment. Thank you!
