Superintendent Tracy Dorland speaking with community staff members at the Mtn. Area Staff Meeting last Friday.
Dear Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you’re having a great weekend and have had the chance to enjoy the beautiful weather. Our staff really appreciated the opportunity to engage in professional learning and in depth planning on Friday!
Monday, September 25th marks the opening of the October Count Window for the state of Colorado. This is a two week time frame where our enrollment determines the funding we will receive from the state. Please see the links and additional information below about how Colorado determines school funding.
Picture day is coming up on Friday of this week. The order forms came home in your child’s Friday folder or you can access picture information online via the links below. Please also check out the new enrichment activities for students after school throughout the week at Wilmot and other nearby locations. There is information below as well as flyers for those activities in your child’s Friday folder.
One of the kids’ favorite events, the Fun Run, is coming up on Friday, October 6th! This event is our big fundraiser for the year. Please see the links and information below to find out how you can support your child and Wilmot through this fun event. Every child gets a Wilmot t-shirt to wear for the Fun Run free of charge.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at school!

Tuesday, September 27th: 2nd Grade Field Trip to Denver Museum of Nature & Science
It’s official – October Count Day this year is Monday, October 2.
The most important action you can take to support school funding is to make sure your student attends school on that day. Much of public education funding from the State of Colorado is based on student count, so we encourage you to make sure your student comes to school that day.
The “count window” the state observes is from Monday, September 25th through Monday, October 9th, but the most important student count day is Monday, October 2nd. Please help us get an accurate count by having your student participate in learning that day.
If your student will be absent on Monday, October 2nd due to illness, please call our attendance line at 303-982-5367 to report the absence. Attendance during the “count window” will help counteract an absence on Monday, October 2nd.
Thank you for your support of Wilmot. Every student counts!
Picture day is this Friday, September 29th. Order forms were sent home in Friday Folders. Pre-orders can also be placed online now, using the Picture Day ID code below.
The Wilmot Community Action Team, known as the CATs, kicked off its third year with 29 members!
This is our last week collecting shoes for Soles4Souls! Please donate shoes of any kind by placing them in the bins in the front hall. If you could tie the laces together or put a rubber band around them, it would be very helpful.
Thank you again for your generosity and support!
Our fun run day is coming up on Friday, October 6 during the school day. More information will be coming home in student Friday Folders in a few weeks, this will include information on our goal and how to collect donations.
Students will be watching the Virtual PTA Fun Run Assembly in class this Friday, September 29th.
The grade run schedule has also been finalized. If you plan to come watch and cheer on your Wildcats, which we encourage if you are able, please feel free to sign up to help us hand out bracelets and popsicles. If the sign up gets full, don't worry, please still come and watch, it's a really fun time!
