CATs Souls 4 Souls Collection
Dear Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
Welcome to October! We have a couple of big events coming up this week. On Thursday, our Wilmot Warblers choir is performing at the Evergreen Choir Festival at Evergreen HS. Choir members should arrive at the high school at 5:30 and then the program starts at 7:00. On Friday is the FUN RUN! This event is a favorite of kids and adults alike! Students will run in the bus circle during their AMPs time. Please be on the lookout for more information from me and your child’s teacher over the course of this week.
I want to give a shout out to our Wilmot CATs students and to all of the families who donated shoes to our Soles4Souls collection! We collected about 500 pairs of shoes that will be donated to people in need in the United States and around the world!
As I shared last week, we are in the middle of the October Count Window that determines the funding we receive from the state of Colorado. While the state considers a two week time frame in order to provide some flexibility for illnesses and other absences, tomorrow is the most important day. Please see the links below for more information.
Lastly, I want to give you a heads up about some things coming up later this month. We will be holding parent teacher conferences in the afternoons/evenings on October 16th, 17th, 18th. Thursday the 19th is the first day of fall break for students and a workday for teachers. We will offer more conference times on that morning and then staff will be engaged in professional learning in the afternoon. Everyone will be off for fall break on Friday, October 20th. I will share a link to sign up for conferences in next week’s Wilmot Weekly.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at school!

October Count Day is TOMORROW Monday, October 2.
The most important action you can take to support school funding is to make sure your student attends school tomorrow! Much of public education funding from the State of Colorado is based on student count, so we encourage you to make sure your student comes to school that day.
The “count window” the state observes is from Monday, September 25th through Monday, October 9th, but the most important student count day is tomorrow Monday, October 2nd. Please help us get an accurate count by having your student participate in learning that day.
If your student will be absent tomorrow Monday, October 2nd due to illness, please call our attendance line at 303-982-5367 to report the absence. Attendance during the “count window” will help counteract an absence on Monday, October 2nd.
Thank you for your support of Wilmot. Every student counts!
Our fun run day is THIS Friday, October 6 during the school day. More information went home in student Friday Folders last week, including information on our goal and how to collect donations.
Students also watched the Virtual PTA Fun Run Assembly in class last Friday.
The grade run schedule has also been finalized. If you plan to come watch and cheer on your Wildcats, which we encourage if you are able, please feel free to sign up to help us hand out bracelets and popsicles. If the sign up gets full, don't worry, please still come and watch, it's a really fun time!

Area Choir Festival. Warblers need to be at Evergreen High School at 5:30pm. The concert will be begin at 7pm. Warblers should wear dark pants/bottoms and nice shoes. All students will be given a Choir Festival shirt to wear over their shirt.
These mobile health clinics provide low- and no-cost services to Coloradans of all ages. They include routine vaccines required for school and child care, as well as other recommended vaccines like flu, COVID-19, and mpox. The exact vaccines offered depend on the specific clinic.
The Mobile Public Health Clinic Program’s mission is to bridge gaps in access to disease control and public health services, and rapidly respond to emergent issues. Our emphasis is on serving low-income and underserved areas of the state.
Most health insurance plans cover recommended vaccines for both children and adults at little or no cost. If you don’t have health insurance, you can still get vaccinated at one of our mobile public health clinics. Under a Colorado law called Individual Access To Publicly Funded Vaccines, vaccine providers cannot require you to provide health insurance, ID, or payment in order to access publicly funded vaccines.
Now is a great time for you and your loved ones to get up to date with routine and recommended vaccines!
