Dear Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Wilmot moms! I also want to extend a big thank you to our PTA for helping our teachers feel special during Teacher Appreciation Week—you’re the best!
This past week, our students with Advanced Learning Plans had the opportunity to share their passions with other students, teachers, and family. Throughout this school year, Mrs. Marcus has worked tirelessly to help these students discover their passions, envision ways to creatively share their learning, and bring those plans to life. The ownership they feel over their projects was evident on Tuesday evening! Thank you to Mrs. Marcus and the students for this incredible event!
We’re in the last two weeks of school, and the schedule gets pretty busy. On Monday of this week, our 5th graders are going up to Mt. Blue Sky Outdoor Lab School for the day to connect with other students matriculating to Evergreen Middle School and EMS teachers. We are excited for our first “Jump to the Middle” experience to help students make a smooth transition to the next phase of their education.
Also this week, the Buffalo Park Schoolhouse that has stood in front of Wilmot for decades will be moved to a new home. I’ve been working with several historical societies, Jeffco Open Space, Jeffco Public Schools, and Evergreen Parks and Rec for several years to mitigate the risk of collapse of the schoolhouse. It was finally decided that the costly repairs needed to keep the building intact require that it be moved and placed on a more suitable foundation. The moving date is Thursday, May 15th, so if you would like any last photos in front of this schoolhouse, now is the time.
Please take a moment to scroll down to see the information about end-of-year Band and Orchestra rehearsals and concerts, field trips, and continuation plans. Please note that all Jeffco Public Schools have an early release on the last day of school. Wilmot students will be dismissed at 12:05 PM on Friday, May 23rd.
Thank you for being a part of the Wilmot Wildcats family! I look forward to seeing you at school this week.

The 1st Day School Supply Shop for 2025-2026 school year is ready.
Here is the link where parents can purchase their back to school supply boxes for the 2025-2026 school year: https://1stdayschoolsupplies.com/gs/19861
This is a one stop shop for all the needed school supplies (except teacher wish list items). A portion of each kit sold goes back to the PTA. Last year this effort raised a total of $518.80 back to the PTA so it's a great way to get your school supplies bought all at once and contribute to PTA fundraising efforts.
