Dear Wonderful Wilmot Parents,
I hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall weekend! It sounds like the field trips last week for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders were filled with fun and learning. Tomorrow, Monday, October 16th is the last day to donate to the Wilmot Fun Run. Prize day will be on Friday, October 27th. Thank you for your support of Wilmot!
Parent teacher conferences are coming up this week (10-16-10/19) so please use this link: Conference Sign-up to make an appointment with your child’s teacher if you haven’t done so already. The sign up starts with preschool and goes up by grade levels. The schedules vary a bit by teacher. If none of the times listed work for your schedule, please reach out to your child’s teacher to make a different arrangement. During conferences this week, you can expect teachers to share information related to any “plans” your child has or may be eligible for including Advanced Learning Plans, READ plans, and Individualized Education Programs, as well as share their assessment results from last spring and/or this fall.
Please take note of some other school events this week including a bake sale organized by our 4th graders on Monday at dismissal, the pumpkin patch, and Hallograms. On Tuesday and Wednesday the pumpkin patch will be out on the field from 2:30-4:00. There are traditional pumpkins as well as many really cool special varieties. Please see more information about these and other events by scrolling down. Please also take note that there is no school for students on Thursday the 19th. This is a workday for teachers. Some teachers are offering more conference times that morning and then staff will be engaged in professional learning in the afternoon. Everyone will be off for fall break on Friday, October 20th.
Before I go, I need to make a plea for more Watch Dogs. We have a small, dedicated group of volunteers, but they can’t shoulder the whole load of arrivals and dismissals. These volunteers play a vital role in keeping traffic flowing smoothly and keeping families safe in the crosswalk. Please consider signing up for shifts in support of our students using the link below. This is a wonderful way to get to know our community and get involved with your kids.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at school!

This Thursday, October 19th is a Teacher Work Day. There will be no school for students Thursday, October 19th or Friday, October 20th. Have a wonderful Fall Break!

Parents with students who have READ Plans and ALPs will need to bring their usernames and passwords for Student Insights to conferences. Jeffco is moving to a paperless cumulative file, and will be requiring acknowledgement of READ Plans and ALPs within the Student Insights platform. Student Insights holds student’s data, READ Plan information, and ALP information. Please see more information and instructions below for this new Jeffco Platform.
Fall conferences are this week and the PTA is in need of some assistance to serve our wonderful Wilmot teachers dinner! We are looking for volunteers to provide meals, sides, desert, gluten and vegan free options, and help with setup and cleanup. We still need several items and help with set-up/tear-down for the night of Monday October 16 and Tuesday October 17.

Introducing Student Insights
Last spring we introduced School Insights, a web-based resource that offers information about Jeffco schools to help you stay informed and engaged in school quality and improvement efforts. Now, we’re excited to share the new Student Insights, which provides information about each student’s learning progress.
Student Insights makes it easy to access information about each student’s district and state tests and their individual learning plan goals. It is a helpful way to check in on learning progress, review academic goals, and identify issues to talk about with teachers.
Student Insights is confidential and may only be accessed by Jeffco students and their parents or guardians using the log-in name and password you use for other district tools, such as Infinite Campus.
You can learn more by watching this short video, reading the Frequently Asked Questions, or by talking with your student’s teacher or the school principal. Please check out this new resource and let us know what you think!

Our 5th Graders will be selling Hall-o-grams next week at the Pumpkin Patch and at school the week before Halloween to raise funds for their 5th Grade Legacy Project! What are Hall-o-grams? They are fun, friendly greetings for friends and Wilmot staff that cost $1 each and include a squishy toy! Our 5th graders will deliver Hall-o-grams to classrooms during the Halloween parties at school.
You can also buy your Hall-o-grams online here - https://wilmot.memberhub.com/store/items/930456.
Thank you for supporting our 5th graders as they work hard to leave a legacy at Wilmot!
Thank you, Wilmot, for your generosity! The Wilmot Community Action Team collected 565 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls! The Blue Spruce Kiwanis picked up our donations on Friday, September 29. The truck was overflowing! These shoes will be distributed to people in need across the country. They will also be sent to developing countries, where women can sell them to support their families. Your donations will make a big difference to so many in need!
Our next project will be our annual coat drive for Coats for Colorado from October 19-November 30. Coats will be collected in bins under the CATs bulletin board in the front hall. They will be periodically taken to Dependable Cleaners in Bergen, where they will be cleaned and given to families in need. We will keep a running tally of our total number of coats collected. Thank you for supporting our efforts to keep kids and families warm this winter!
Calling all Watch D.O.G.S.! We are SO thankful to all of our wonderful Watch D.O.G. volunteers that help with drop-off and pick-up every day. These volunteers play a vital role in keeping traffic flowing smoothly and kiddos safe in the cross walks. Please consider signing up for shifts in support of our students. This is a wonderful way to get to know our community and get involved with your kiddos.
