Course description:
The Year 11 Visual Art programme is a practical course that is based around the exploration of an individual theme. They will be introduced to a range of media and techniques. This will enable students to learn and develop skills using a range of media to apply to their own artworks.
Students will be required to explore established artists’ work as a source of inspiration and to help develop visual and conceptual ideas to apply to their own artworks.
The course helps students to develop core creative thinking and technical skills as well as providing support for the development of independent idea resolution practices. You will develop confidence and understanding of creative problem solving towards successful outcomes.

Course of study:
Build practical skills using a range of wet and dry media.
Develop a series of artworks based on a proposed theme, exploring and combining a range of media including painting, photography, and printmaking.
Investigate established artists to gain insight into traditional and contemporary art practice.
Create a digital portfolio. The school provides access to Adobe software on student laptops. Students must have laptops that meet the software's minimum requirements.
