Course of study:
Get ready to dive into some of the most fascinating areas of biology! In this course, you'll uncover the secrets of genetics and evolution, explore incredible animal adaptations and delve deep into the world of cellular biology; revealing how all living things function at their most fundamental level.
While our focus at Level 2 is broad, encompassing diverse organisms and biological processes, it's worth noting that we won't be concentrating specifically on human biology topics.
It is strongly recommended that students who specifically intend studying NCEA Level 3 Biology complete the NCEA Level 2 course.
Assessment:
Internal – up to 7 credits at NCEA Level 2.
External – up to 12 credits at NCEA Level 2.

Entry criteria:
A minimum of Achieved in the Year 11 Science Genetics exam. Selected students may gain entry into this course directly from Year 10 Science at the discretion of the HOD of Science.
