The National Curriculum currently prescribes that you study subjects from the eight Essential Learning Areas: English, The Arts, Health & Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics & Statistics, Science, Social Sciences, and Technology. As a school of Special Character, all students also study a course of Religious Education.

This makes a programme of EIGHT subjects in total.
Literacy and Numeracy - Year 10 students will be given the opportunity to sit NCEA Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy requirements. These are as follows:
Level 1 Literacy Requirement
10 credits through new Literacy co-requisites:
Literacy: Read written texts to understand ideas and information (5 credits)
Literacy: Write texts to communicate ideas and information. (5 credits)
Level 1 Numeracy Requirement
10 credits through new Numeracy co-requisites:
Numeracy: Use mathematics and statistics to meet the numeracy demands of a range of situations (10 credits)
