Throughout the NCEA programme, students will be assessed in the four language strands:
Korero – Speaking
Pānui – Reading
Tuhituhi – Writing
Whakarongo – Listening
Tuhituhi and Pānui are externally assessed.
Whakarongo, Korero and Tuhituhi are internally assessed.
Students are strongly advised to join the Kapa Haka group to gain cultural experiences and to enrich their language learning.

Note: Te Reo Māori classes may be combined with other levels or, alternatively, students may be enrolled with Te Kura (The Correspondence School) and offered support from the Te Reo Māori teacher.
