All students are entered into Year 11 General Science. The course content builds on all units from Year 10 Science and also includes Numeracy and Literacy skills.
There is also a Year 11 Advanced Science programme which students may be invited into based on their results from the Year 10 examinations and teacher recommendations.
Course description:
This course is designed to expose students to the scientific phenomena that they use every day so that they can develop an understanding of the principles involved.
Course of study:
Students will investigate a range of scientific phenomena from the living world and physical world, while gaining the fundamental knowledge needed for specialising in Level 2 Biology, Level 2 Chemistry and Level 2 Physics in Year 12.
Costs:
Course workbooks: $30
Stationery: Exercise books, calculator, ruler.
Entry criteria:
All students are entered into Level 1 General Science. The course content builds on all units from Year 10 Science and also includes Numeracy and Literacy skills.
Future pathways:
This course is a prerequisite for students who wish to proceed on to any Level 2 Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics), with passes in the appropriate standards offered.
