Some papers require working with children off-site either through home-based services or centre-based services such as a childcare centres, kindergarten, play centre or playgroup.
Course Requirements:
Year 12 students have the opportunity to work through a two-year programme based on Level 2 and Level 3 units.
Year 13 students can select any Level 3 units that support their individual areas of interest.
Grace Prescott - Early Childhood Education through Instant Education Solutions
This year, I have chosen to study in the HUB with the focus of working on Early Childhood Education Papers (ECE). This subject has influenced my vocational path by enhancing my understanding of children. Taking this paper has also helped me when applying for a job and university because I have already taken a solid grasp on childcare responsibilities, daycare health and safety and all round protocols.
When studying the ECE papers it has helped me provide an understanding of child development and educational practices. This knowledge has a strong foundation in my career because it has not only equipped me with heaps of knowledge and practical skills but also the confidence to know what to do when working with children.
Engaging and joining the HUB has really helped me towards knowing what I want to do in the future. Taking these papers have shown me that I'm gaining the knowledge to carry out my future endeavours in the early childhood education sector.
Taking papers like these in the HUB is very important because when going into the HUB most students here are also taking similar papers whether it be tourism papers or early childhood papers. It is nice to be surrounded by people that will motivate you to complete your books you are studying.
