Elizabeth MacDonald - Tourism
Throughout this year I have been studying Tourism in the HUB. I am looking to enter the tourism industry as a flight attendant once I leave school, and the tourism course offered through the HUB has allowed me to get a good insight into this industry. I appreciate how the HUB has allowed me to learn about something that I am truly interested in, and gives me the ability to work on my own schedule, and at a pace that suits me. While being in the HUB I have learnt to be very dependent on myself, and have gained stronger time management and organisational skills. So far, I have learned about key areas of tourism, including tourists, destinations, and work roles in the industry. While learning about these, I have gained a lot of new information about the industry that I wouldn't otherwise have known. I am very happy with my decision to take Tourism in the HUB this year.
I feel that it has had a very positive impact on my confidence towards managing my learning, as well as my enjoyment of school.
