Course description:
The Year 11 Design & Visual Communication programme will be based upon realistic and thought-provoking situations.
In this course, students will develop visual literacy and aesthetic awareness as they manipulate and transform visual, tactile, and spatial design ideas to solve problems. They will explore designers’ methods, conceptual processes, and social issues and needs. The design and visual communication skills help develop students’ conceptual thinking within a range of practices across drawing and design. Design & Visual Communication may include a study of theories of a designer, architectural design and principles, and product technologies. Theoretical investigations also inform practical inquiry.
