STEAM Studio supports students to become confident, creative problem-solvers who can combine practical skills with imagination, innovation and a thoughtful awareness of people, place and the environment. In an evolving world and workforce, STEAM skills are increasingly important because they help students adapt to change, build resilience, approach unfamiliar challenges with confidence, and develop innovative ideas for the future.
Traditionally, many schools and industries focused on purely STEM, STEAM builds on this by adding the A for Arts, recognising that creativity, design, communication and imagination are essential to solving real-world problems.
The acknowledgement of Arts help students think more flexibly, communicate their ideas clearly, consider the needs of people and communities, and create outcomes that are not only functional, but thoughtful, engaging and meaningful. In STEAM Studio, creativity is a key part of how students explore problems, generate ideas and bring solutions to life.
In STEAM Studio, students will have the opportunity to use a range of exciting hands-on technologies and processes, including the laser cutter, soldering equipment, drills, spray painting, digital design tools and other practical making techniques and more.
