General Comments:
**A strong batch of poems, and there were some very nice entries I had
to eliminate because they failed to indicate the duration of the rain
(anything sudden or occurring at a certain time of day, not to mention
the absence of it, is not "long" in my mind).
**I had a long list from which to cull! Many excellent haiku for the
dull days of "long rains."
**This was a really difficult vote for me. So many poems deserved
points. Congratulations to all that entered. Reading your entries was
a real treat!
**So many great haiku here! It was hard to pick.
**It was difficult to pick from this list. There are so many good ones
I decided to give 6 of them one vote each. I could have chosen 6
different ones equally good, but in the end these made a slightly
greater impression.
**Thanks for your time, and the opportunity. We have had a lot of rain
over the last two years! At last the sun is shining but it's autumn
chilly, with dancing toadstools....
**Some very interesting takes on the season reference. Enjoyed reading
through the whole batch.
**LONG RAINS is a season in East Africa (mid-March to mid-May). This
year, the rains were so heavy that they caused mudslides and deaths in
many parts of Kenya.
**A lot more than six fine haiku in these, and three worth more than
one point. So ... what a difficult choice. Thank you!
**as kigo efforts go this is pretty confused according to Gabi's
saijiki which say "long rain(s) is not a kigo." Though on the same
site Kenya claims is for March to May. The same database says ants are
generally summer... so... aargh!
**Thank you for another chance to read and vote on some wonderful
haiku and have mine be read, perhaps, get votes, too.
** Such a long rain of long rain haiku :) jiggity jog

General Comments:
**Had a tough time selecting the six. :)
**It seems that dust haiku are not so monotonous as rain haiku. I wish
I had at least 3 more points to award in this section.
**This time too many said too much! Still, some fine gems.
**So much life among all this dust.
**A great variety of moments in this batch. Quite enjoyable though
there's a number of tendencies to tell rather than show. Thanks again
for this opportunity to read and vote.
**Thanks, and so grateful for this fun!
