The haiku are listed in order of total points received from voters. The numbers reflect the number of voters who gave the haiku either
three points, two points, or one point -- followed by the total points for all votes.
Those who were given less than three points and who requested anonymity in such a case are so noted.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the listing below, after each poem the author is listed, and then a three digit code revealing how many 3-point, 2-point, and 1-point
points were cast for this poem by the other participating poets. (2,1,4 = 12) would indicate that the poem above received two 3-point
votes, one 2-point vote, and four 1-point votes.
VOTER'S comments are in italics below the respective poems.

Polona
(0,8,9) = 25 pts

with the visual of moonlight inverted into sound! Quite complex in a
simple way.
**The senses nicely confused

frozen clods

lingering cold
Tom Painting
(0,4,3) = 11 pts
** This speaks of the hope for spring while the cold yet lingers --
the earth has been turned, new growth is near, but the
clods are still frozen. To me, a very vivid picture and fine haiku.

**How poignant. Although we have seen a few fine haiku with this same
idea in previous kukai, I will still give points here simply because I
love this kind of imagery. Also ‘soup tureen’ is remarkably evocative
of the homeless and adds another level to this already skilful haiku.

General Comments:
**So many excellent haiku. Whoever rises to the top is TOPS, that's
for sure. This time I wish for, at least, 6 more for votes!
**So many more…wish I had more votes J
**My problem with this month's kigo is that, for me, "lingering cold"
means "I've had the sniffles for a week, now." I'm pleased that, for
so many of our poets, this was no barrier to excellence.
**Pity that not everyone used "lingering cold" as a
kigo in accordance with the invitation, but that head colds and cold
moods were brought in as well...
