General Comments:
** Since the poems are so good, it is very difficult to judge. Thank you for giving an opportunity to participate in voting.
**So many haiku treats hard to choose only a few - as always!
**I don't actually associate any particular food with New Year's, but I now suppose I'll be haunted by nightmares in which I am surrounded by the accusing stares of black-eyed peas.
**Some really great haiku in this kukai. It's always a thrill to read different takes on the same theme. What a wonderful world haiku endlessly offers. Thanks again.
**Looks as though some haiku group decided on "black-eyed peas" for a theme.
**Wow, so many black-eyed peas!
**Similar "problem" in both sections:
it's getting harder and harder to narrow it down!
** This time, I had real difficulties narrowing down a fine collection to just six selected haiku. Thanks to all the contributors. It was hard to know some of the new year's food, and I am grateful to the author of haiku 23 who explained the significance of black-eyed peas and Hoppin' John.
**Because my mother loves them so, shrimp cocktail on New Year is a family tradition.

General Comments:
**Thank you for giving me an opportunity to read and judge very lovely poems.
**Need to catch my breath after all that wind:) Lots of good ones! Thanks for all your time.
**We've already had a winter's worth of wind around here; I much prefer the poetic kind.
**Quite a challenge to vote in this category with so many wonderful takes on the prompt. Thank you for another enjoyable kukai.
**Many excellent windy haiku.
**There are just too many good haiku this time round. It's been quite a job selecting the favourites.1
**It was so hard to choose, so many wonderful poems in this section, I am sorry for the ones I needed to give up...
**Kept hoping to come across something a bit more unusual, these were very run-of-the-mill.
**There were so many that caught my eye, I think the wind has blown the best out of many of us. 6 was too less to split, and I've had to cut out some favorites. Even to split 20 points might have been difficult. Kudos to all!
**Thank you again for making these competitions possible -- they are always a great encouragement to the students here!
**Thank you all you do with Shiki. I most appreciate it and the opportunity to write haiku cause I wouldn't do it on my own.
