General Comments:

**many haiku were similar to each other and employed images that have been used in some well known haiku so I gave more weight to the haiku's originality when voting this time.

**Great to think flowers in February. I remember a "winter" in Chapel Hill where in November folks planted pansies (they are NOT pansies!) and decorative cabbage!

**Liked this topic...but so hard to narrow down my vote!

**And so many more so close. Wouldn’t it be nice to get together on Skype to share our comments and observations!

**Many "moons" to gaze at! Excellent entries.

**Thanks again for this wonderful opportunity!

**It's been a pleasure to take part in my first Shiki Kukai.

**There was much repetition in the haiku, perhaps because the only winter flowers are either fake or hot house.

** It was so difficult to pick up from a rich bouquet of winter flowers...

**These are classic themes for the February kukai -- TOUGH!

**General comment : A real delight to read all these haiku.

**Thanks again! Really enjoyed participating this time. Lot of good ones. If only we could stretch the votes :-) . However, I am curious why we had so many paper roses at the grave kinda verses. But never mind that.

**Some poignant poems in this group!

**Thanks for your time and the opportunity.

**Thanks again for this chance for my haiku to be read and maybe get some votes.

General Comments:

**There were so many good ones, it was difficult to decide!

**A powerful topic... and again wish I could have chosen more:

**Fellow authors, I truly ache from the poignant melancholy. So many touching poems, though not all necessarily haiku; so few not deserving of at least one point. But there were three with something extra, and fortunately or un--, six is divisible by three.

**Some good ones over all. Thanks again.

**Wonderful haiku this month!

Thank you for participating in the February 2015 Kukai!

There will be no kukai in March

With much appreciation,

The Shiki Monthly Kukai Team
