The classic beef burger

Ingredients

makes 4 burgers

1 lb ground beef

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 small Onion chopped fine

3 teaspoon Salt

½ teaspoon Black pepper

Burger sauce

½ cup Mayonnaise

6 tablespoon Ketchup

2 tablespoon Thousand Island dressing

1 tablespoon mustard

2 tablespoon Honey

1 heaping tablespoon Sweet relish

Toppings

1 thick Tomato slice /burger

2 romaine lettuce leaves/ burger

2 slices brie cheese/ burger

butter toasted buns

Instructions

    • Mix all the burger sauce ingredients and set aside in the refrigerator
    • In a bowl combine ground beef, oil, chopped onion, salt and black pepper
    • Lightly mix to incorporate and form into 4 balls, press down each one into the desired patty shape
    • On a hot grill place the burger patties and cook 2 minutes per side
    • Wrap each loosely in foil and steam cook the patties for 5 minutes on the same grill
    • Open the foil and place the brie slices on each patty set aside to keep warm
    • Toast the burger buns in a pan with butter or coconut oil
    • To assemble spread burger sauce on the bun, followed by the burger patty and brie, lettuce tomato more burger sauce and top with the final bun.

Greedy tips:

To take this over the top add some crispy French fried onions!
