This year, the annual Homecoming dance was held at Wings Over The Rockies, an old Air Force base that was turned into an aerospace museum in 1997. Anyone that went to the dance could tell that it had a specific focus on planes.. Planes were hanging from the ceiling and on display in every corner of the museum.

Along with the planes, there were a selection of arcade games, a flight simulator, an ice-cream truck (which was serving free ice cream all night), and of course the dance floor. Anna Dunford and many others argued that “It’s much better than last year, it’s more spaced out and we get to see a lot of cool planes too.” This is fair considering this year the venue is 182,000 square feet compared to last year at Bowlero where the venue was only 45,000 square feet.

However, the main problem that many people had with this venue was how far away it was. From ThunderRidge alone it’s almost a 45 minute drive and that’s not including stopping for dinner.

Dinner is another important part of Homecoming night and many people went to Maggianos;an American-Italian restaurant, as their restaurant of choice for Homecoming night. Berlin Hindman said her plans were “we’re heading to Magiannos for dinner then some of the girls are going to be having a sleepover after the dance.”

However, Ella Kruel found that “the drive to Homecoming wasn't as long as I expected and we ended up getting there early.” She along with many other people found that they didn’t mind the drive, however, the main problem this year was the music. Samantha Jones said, “You just could not really dance to the music so it was hard to enjoy it since that's the whole point.”

This year's Homecoming was overall just a very fun and amazing night, most people could have fun whether they wanted to dance, play games, or just get some free ice cream and everyone that went had an amazing night on cloud nine.
