Back again with another one of ThunderRidge Newspaper’s Advent Calendar Ranking. In this edition, we will discuss if students prefer the holiday Thanksgiving or Christmas! After interviewing fifteen students we found out that ten of fifteen favor Christmas. This means only around 30% of students we interviewed like Thanksgiving more.
With this information we researched, we found that Christmas is the favorite national holiday in the United States. The reason some people enjoy this holiday is due to the fact that it's a religious holiday. Around 93% of Americans celebrate Christmas whereas only 85% celebrate Thanksgiving. The whole idea of our advent calendar of stories has to do with the Christmas season! Other impacts Christmas has on the season include; movies, pajamas, home decor, presents, trees, music, and much more. Thanksgiving impacts less during the season which could be part of the reason people prefer the Christmas holiday.
No matter which holiday season is your favorite, we can all agree both holidays are great and have their advantages. Come back tomorrow to read the next advent article about students' favorite holiday stories!
