Frantically looking for volunteer hours? Look no further! We have multiple recommendations for where you can get your hours and have fun doing it!
BackCountry is hosting a haunted forest. This is an annual event, so if you missed this year, make sure to go next year. You can volunteer to be a guide or a scarer. As a guide, you can show guests around the forest. As a scarer, you can be the one to jump out and scare the guests. If neither of those sound appealing to you, then you can help set up and take down all of the decorations on October 22nd and 23rd. Hosted by HRCA, you can help with the Holiday Gift Fair. If you love dogs, consider volunteering at 2 Blondes All Breed Rescue. You can walk the dogs around and help them get their exercise. If you’re 16 or older, you can also drive the dogs to medical appointments Dumb Friends League and The Humane Society are some more great place to volunteer if you love animals, although you must be 16 years old. Once you get all 20 of your hours, make sure to go on the TRHS website, then to the counselors site to record your hours and get credit. If none of these opportunities appeal to you, then go look for yourself at volunteerconnectdc.org. You can customize your interests and choose a volunteer site that you enjoy!
