There have been many great games that have come out in 2022, such as Lost Ark, Elden Ring, and Dying Light 2, but many Star Wars fans are really excited about what LEGO has planned for the LEGO Star Wars Saga. On April 5th, 2022 the next LEGO Star Wars game will be released, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. There have been 6 editions of LEGO Star Wars dating back to 2006. The new game is coming out on many platforms including, Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac. The game will be released in two separate variations, the standard edition retails at $59.99, the deluxe edition gives players many skin packs in game including characters from Mandolorian season 1, as well as Rouge One. It also comes with a LEGO character of Luke Skywalker.
There are so many new features included in this game. Players can play as iconic characters such as Darth Vader, Yoda, Luke Skywalker. This will be the most visually appealing LEGO game yet, it has lots of details with realistic reflections and designs. Players can play through all 9 films in the Star Wars saga including many DLC packs such as, Mandolorian season 1 & 2, Rogue one, and more. Pretty much all mechanics have been updated and remastered, the movement, shooting, flying, and looting have all been updated. The shooting dwarfs the old games in how intuitive it is. In the old games, you could only tap the shoot button and it would auto aim, the controls were very awkward to use and not fun to play with. There wasn't any flying and the driving controls were not intuitive. The story in the game almost felt disconnected to the actual story and there was no dialogue to the characters. In the 3rd episode, Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi have this huge battle at the end, while playing the ending of the 3rd episode in the Complete Saga, Obi-Wan and Darth Vader are fighting together.
The Skywalker Saga will revolutionize every mechanic in the LEGO Saga. The shooting will be a 3rd person angle with a crosshair and you have the ability to shoot anywhere at any time. There will be a planet to planet travel system with flying and driving included. There are also new dialogue options including normal and mumble mode, the old games only had mumble mode which was just the characters speaking gibberish, or mumbling, but the new game will have actual dialogue from the movies.
Previous LEGO Star Wars games would always be fun but they would never feel very intuitive. My experience with the game was very similar to others, I really enjoyed it, but it was never that intuitive. This game will revolutionize the LEGO Star Wars saga, and will make players enjoy the games much more.
