As the school year winds down to the end, we have spring sports starting. This includes baseball, and the one focused on in this story, Girls Lacrosse.
Lacrosse is a game of skill and strategy. It is like a mix of soccer, baseball, and football all in one. Players have sticks with nets at the top and you try to throw a ball into the goal with the stick. It takes great accuracy, precision, athleticism, and hard work to master this sport. Anyone who plays this sport is very talented because lacrosse is such a complex and precise sport.
So far, through four games played, the girl’s lacrosse team has gone 3-1. They destroyed Arapahoe in their first game 22-2, then they went on to lose to Colorado Academy 13-7, But they bounced back on Tuesday with a win against Kent Denver 14-7. Then, they beat Castle View pretty convincingly 15 to 5. This is a great start for this team.
Student Avery Cutter(10) was asked about some of her thoughts on the season and the team.
“I like bonding with some of the guys on the team and it really makes us a great team because of how strong our friendship is,” Avery said when asked about her favorite part of the team.
Bonding and team chemistry is a big part of team success. If you don’t have chemistry with your teammates, your team most likely isn’t as good as it could be.
“I think the level of skill that our team has and how we perform in each game really makes our team stand out from the rest.” Avery said when asked about how the team is different from the rest.
I think you can tell how our lacrosse team stands out. They all bond with each other very well, and work together very well with each other. We look forward to watching this team play throughout the season and wish them good luck with their upcoming games.
Make sure to support this wonderful group of ladies on Saturday 4/1 against Chatfield. Or their next home game is on 4/11 against Valor.
