The Denver Broncos are out with Vic Fangio and in with new head coach Nathaniel Hackett. The Broncos fired ex head coach Vic Fangio after leading the Broncos to three losing seasons. They fired Fangio on January 9th 2022. George Paton, the Broncos general manager then started searching for a new head coach. They brought in multiple coaches but the only two they brought back for a second interview was Dan Quinn (the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator) and Nathaniel Hackett (the Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator). They decided on Nathaniel Hackett and hired him on January 27th, 2022. Nathaniel Hackett was the offensive coordinator for the Packers for two seasons from 2019-2022. Nathaniel Hackett helped get the Packers to a 13-4 record and averaged 26.1 points per game, ranking third in points per game in the 2021 season, behind only the Chiefs and Buccaneers.
This hiring will bring many different things including new players and hope for the Denver Broncos organization and fans. Denver has already brought in a new offensive coordinator as a result of Nathaniel Hackett. They acquired the ex Packers tight end coach Justin Outten. The Denver Broncos have also been showing interest in getting a new quarterback. There is a lot of speculation about the Broncos going out to sign Aaron Rodgers so he could reunite with his head coach. The Broncos have the youngest roster in the league with an average age of 25.6. This along with his old offensive coordinator are all drawing in Aaron Rodgers to the Mile High City. The addition of Aaron Rodgers will bring more interest to Denver and with interest comes new and better players. Aaron Rodgers' old teammate Davante Adams, arguably a top three wide receiver in the NFL, is a top candidate for the Broncos to acquire. There have been speculated trades such as Denver losing Tim Patrick, Drew Lock and two first round picks, and getting in return, Aaron Rodgers and a fourth round pick. This all brings more interest and more speculation to Denver and higher expectations for the 2022 season, including a better record and hopefully a deep playoff run for the Broncos in the 2022 season.
