Sports at ThunderRidge High School are very important to us students. It's what we get excited about during the different times of the year. I bet you didn’t know of our Boys Volleyball team. With a tough start to the season they have recently beaten Rock Canyon 11-15 in a home game on Thursday April 6th . With great focus through these sets and great communication gave Thunder Ridge a great upper hand.#4 Chase Evans (11) gets a great set from Aiden Edinger (9) and goes in for a spike, smacks the ball, as it flies to the ground getting a point for Thunder Ridge.
Slowly, Thunderridge is coming back to tie the score. Each team is scoring one after another, back and forth until the score is 24-24, making us win by 2 now. Each team is trying their absolute hardest and putting their best players out, hoping to get the advantage. Once again scoring back and forth until it gets up to 27 ThunderRidge 28 Rock Canyon. Thunder Ridge has the serve, as #17 Aiden Edinger (9) throws up for a jump serve, hitting it straight into the back corner of there court scoring a point making it tied.
Aiden is up for serve again hitting the ball over. Rock Canyon hits the ball up and sets it for a spike. Evan Waters (9) and Cowan Dohrman (9) jumped up with his hands up, blocking the ball getting the final point giving ThunderRidge the win. We spoke to a few students apart from the volleyball team and got some of our questions answered about being a part of the team. Charlie Stocking (11) says that he joined the volleyball team because he wanted to get involved with the school in a fun way. Charlie also enjoys how he got to branch out and meet new people. He says that this was exactly what he wanted to do. The sport is competitive enough to have rivals, but also not enough to stress about games. Aiden Edinger (9) Dylan Golec (10) and says that for the game against rock canyon the team played very well and actually played competitively. He says that we also had great passes making the plays better.
