The Choir Department here at ThunderRidge is amazing. They explained to me how they prepare for their concerts , and what techniques they use for the music. While talking to Mr. Wolterstorff (Dubbs), he had said that when they give out the music sheets they encourage the students to read over it beforehand, then to start making sure you're on key, when you are practicing singing the songs given. Even if you start choir and its your first year , lips and tricks , such as ways to be able to retain the songs and lyrics , so you can be ready for the concerts. How some students say they deal with having stage fright, is that they just stare right ahead either into the light or just focus on something in the crowd instead of looking at the people. Before the shows, they get together and have some pep talks and get everyone hype before the show so that students won't be as nervous. This helps the students feel more comfortable and helps them have more confidence in themselves as well as in their singing.
If you’ve thought about joining choir and think that it might be fun, just do it and dont be afraid it will be an amazing experience for you. Students who join choir say that they become happier and feel included. In choir, you are able to make new friends, learn new songs, and become part of an amazing family here at Thunderridge.
