As we know graduation is right around the corner and the seniors are getting ecstatic! The 2023 graduating class was amazing and we are going to miss them but are excited to see what they will do in the future. During the school year, they did amazing things such as welcoming the freshman and just being a role model for them to look up to. They have left their mark here at ThunderRidge and that won't be forgotten.
To recognize and congratulate some of the seniors, we interviewed them on their plans after graduation. Ethan Hill (12) is attending CU Boulder with a major in pre-medicine. His favorite memory was Football. He played football all four years and was very involved in Student Government. Dillon White (12) is taking a different path and instead of going to college, he is going into the air force. His favorite memory was the Mountain Vista football game. Dillon was always in the front of the student section hyping up the whole school and showing amazing school spirit! Erik Saur (12) is going to the University of Kansas for business. His favorite memory was beating Mountain Vista in overtime during the homecoming game! He was a part of the “dirty dozen”, the top 12 most hard-working and dedicated players on the Varsity football team. Lastly, Kenny Carpenter (12), is committed to Colorado State University with a Track scholarship and majoring in Anatomy. His favorite memory was the family he built during his track season all four years of high school.
This year's graduation will be held at Denver University. The day before graduation there was a cord ceremony for the seniors. This is where they are acknowledged for all their hard work and dedication to the school. The cords are all different to show various areas of success. At ThunderRidge you walk the stage and graduate with your seminar class. This is a way to connect students in your seminar by walking into the school on the first day of freshman year and walking the stage on graduation day as a senior. It's a very special tradition that has been around for a long time.
Congratulations again to all of the dedicated seniors!
