Get ready to be aggressive Grizzlies because cheer season has started! Our ThunderRidge cheer team has been working hard all summer for the upcoming season and fine tuning their skills. As backspot and base Ethan Caldwell put it, "We've been practicing all year round, we practiced the entire summer, and every day we drill really hard and our coaches are very serious about attendance."
Boy has it paid off! With a win in our first football game against Arvada West (34-28) it was super obvious that they have been practicing. However, football season isn't the only thing that they are preparing for, many of the girls have also been preparing for their state and national competitions coming up fast. Many of them, like Cayleigh Harrison (backspot) and Lauren Sweller (base and backspot) went to UCA camp over the summer with an additional four days of Stunting Camp gaining new skills and practicing old ones to prepare for their upcoming competitions and games. Kya Shouse (backspot and base) has been working to get her standing tuck for tryouts so that she can be ahead of the game. Our Grizzly cheer team has been working really hard all year to prepare for upcoming tryouts, competitions, and our amazing football and basketball games. So next time you see the cheer team tumbling and killing it on the field or stadium, be sure to show them some love.

Position: Pitcher
Softball has begun! Currently, the Grizzlies are 2-1 and had a big win against Palmer Ridge, 13-0. Despite their loss to Arapahoe on August 23 the team has outscored their opponents 25-12 and have shown great team spirit throughout the season so far. One of the Grizzlies' top performers, Alyssa Hunter, Junior, has dominated at the plate so far, with a 0.625 batting average, and has also pitched in the first 3 games of this season. The JV Grizzlies have also battled their way to an undefeated record so far this season, winning their first 3 games. We all are excited to see what the rest of the season will bring for these very talented ladies.
Get ready for volleyball season Grizzlies! These girls are hard at work to prepare for their upcoming games so that they can take the win this year! As outside hitter, sophomore Kennedy Cummings said, “We've have our first game today so we've been preparing for that all week and getting all of our rotations set up.” The varsity team has won 3 of their last 4 games to get back to 500. Many of these girls have been playing volleyball for 3+ years, so make sure to come and support them for their upcoming games.

Position: Outside Hitter
Brenna West (11)
Position: Dancer
At a Football game, besides the game itself, the dancers are one of the most entertaining and fun parts of the game! Poms is a super impressive activity considering how challenging it is. One of the students participating in Poms, Brenna West, has been dancing for 8 years and started Poms her freshman year. She said her favorite part of Poms is, “The people and the community that it builds, also cheering at games.” So make sure to cheer these guys on at our next game!
