We are excited to be hosting the first Trick or Treat Street in two years, on Tuesday, October 26th! Ms. Bennett is one of the marketing teachers here at ThunderRidge and is excited to share her thoughts on it. “Last year, it was canceled due to COVID-19, and the year prior to that it was canceled because of a snow storm! ThunderRidge has been doing Trick or Treat street for 10 plus years, and we are super excited to bring it back! We are expecting over 1,000 people, not including parents, grandparents, and kids.”
All students in the marketing classes have been working on their section in the school for about a week. A lot of work and preparation goes into Trick or Treat Street and you don't want to miss it! Marketing students spend almost the whole month of October bringing their minds together to create a unique hallway of Halloween magic.
A Freshman, Kylie Larson, is excited to show the community her hard work. “We are building an outstanding volcano for our dinosaur section, in the Upper C hallway. Today, October 14th, is our last workday before we have to be finished. There have been many challenges, like coordinating with our team to get the right supplies. The best part of this whole experience is working with my friends and seeing our work come to life.”
Trick or Treat street is a very unique and one of a kind experience or the community of ThunderRidge and we encourage you to come and enjoy this beauty,
The hard working kids in these photos are working on their section and creating a masterpiece with just paper and markers.
Trick or Treat street had a great turn out and was super fun! A student with the name of Rohan Binu (Senior) said, “I really enjoyed Trick or Treat street. About 200 kids and parents came through and they all got candy. I think my section; the Lego section, was pretty good but could've been better.”
Ms. Bennett was truly thrilled with the turn out. “I was very pleased with the kids and parents who came through. Considering we haven’t hosted a Trick or Treat Street in two years, there were less people than normal. Plus, it was rainy and cold and I assume people didn’t want to stand in the rain. The one downside is, we ran out of candy a lot faster than expected. All the classes executed their sections very well and it’s impossible to choose a favorite.”
Student Cooper Hoff (Senior) had a few things to say regarding the event, “I was in the student government section, which was to travel around the world. We were very prepared and didn’t run out of candy. In total, it took about two hours to set up and take down our section.”
Man oh man, are we excited for next year, and the next year, and the next year. Trick or Treat Street in an iconic tradition that will stay around till the end. We look forward to seeing you next year!
