Daylight Savings Time

What is your opinion on Daylight Savings Time, do you like it or do you believe that we should get rid of it? I'm here to tell you some of the reasons we have Daylight Savings Time.
Daylight savings was originally created to save electricity during World War I and stopped after the war ended. During World War II, this was known as the Wartime and was used to help save energy and give the army more hours of usable daylight. Daylight Savings Time was started by George Hudson, an entomologist from New Zealand, in 1895. An entomologist is a person who studies or they are an expert in zoology that mainly focuses on insects. George Hudson proposed that Daylight Savings Time would be a two-hour difference when they switched times. This helped people when they wanted to go hunting because they would be able to wake up earlier when they have light outside.
The main idea behind Daylight Savings Time is to conserve energy and have better use of daylight during the spring and summer when we have more sunlight. During the spring and summer, people are motivated to get out of the house because Daylight Savings Time gives people more time to do sports and other activities outside. Daylight Savings Time also helps tourism in places like New York, and other tourist destinations by providing people with more time to be outside and play games or just sit outside rather than losing an hour. When people wake up, they tend to turn on the lights because it’s dark outside. Once Daylight Savings Time hits, it’s already light outside by the time most people wake up. Richard, 11 “ I don’t like Daylight savings time because I lose an hour of sleep”
When Daylight Savings Time starts, people need to adjust to the new time. Some people and animals don’t get used to the time on the first day. People who normally walk their dog at 5:30 p.m. might see their dog waiting at the door when it’s 4:30 p.m. Animals are just like humans when they first start Daylight Savings Time. They are used to doing things on a daily schedule. We create a schedule in our minds that we are able to follow on a daily basis. Sometimes this can help people while driving in the morning because it’s lighter outside. This can help people have less accidents when they are driving because it’s not as dark outside. Nathan, 11 “ I don’t really mind it’s kinda annoying cuz it’s an hour less of sleep”
However, some people like Daylight Savings Time because it gives them more time during the spring and summer and boosts money for businesses. Xander, 11 “ Yea I like it cause I get an extra hour of sleep and there is more to do during the day” Arizona got rid of Daylight Savings Time in 1968 after deciding they don’t want to follow Daylight Savings Time because most people prefer to go out and do things when it’s cooler. Arizona gets plenty of daylight and heat all year round. This can give farmers a chance to wake up when it’s light outside to help get all of their crops up. Some people would rather have it be dark outside when they wake up because it gives them more time to do things after school or once they get out of work. Getting rid of Daylight Savings Time allows it to be cooler when they go out to do daily activities.
Overall I believe that we should keep Daylight Savings Time because it helps out with many things such as helping farmers get up when they have light outside. This can help hunters get out earlier in the day to go get food for their family and can help people get food on their tables. Daylight Savings Time can benefit people by helping them wake up in the morning to go out and help other people do things around.
