Fall Break is a great time to take some time off of school and get together with friends and family. Fall is lots of people’s favorite season: the leaves change colors, fall on the ground, and it gets colder. Fall Break is a great time for everyone, students and staff alike, to take time to go out and travel places and get out of school. Let’s talk to some of our students and staff to see what they did for Fall Break.
Student Tiffany Jessen, a senior and president of DECA, traveled far for fall break: “I am going to Philadelphia and New York!” She could go see the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell, and other historic sites in those cities. “In Philadelphia, I will be with my mom at a work conference, and in New York I will be hanging out with my boyfriend and his family.”
Next Mrs. Brandy, the security guard that we all know and love, is always very loving and accepting. Family is a big part of her life, so “going to Nebraska to see my dad,” is a must for her. She will be taking the break to spend time with him and, “I will be helping him around the house because his health isn’t the best.”
Senior Jordan Middlemist, known as an interesting character, he’ll most likely have an interesting response: “Yes, I am going to be in my basement for the whole fall break and never leave . . . I am going to play GTA and Minecraft with all of my friends and family.” Jordan is very outgoing and very honest about what he does. He is a very big gamer and enjoys lots of games, but GTA and Minecraft are his favorite to play.
This teacher won Staff Member of the Month the first ever month he was here, Mr.Chapparo the new Welding teacher. He is definitely a favorite among the students because of his personality, he jokes around a lot with his students and even some kids that are not even in his class, and never fails to make class engaging. “No, I am just staying home.” Unlike the other students and staff that are traveling for fall break, Mr.Chapparo is staying home with his family to carve pumpkins: “I am going to be carving pumpkins with my 3 kids and my wife.” He’s a great teacher and he’s a family man, an all in one type of guy!
So you see there are a few people going out of state to see family and friends, and there are also people that just want to stay home and be with family and friends here. Fall Break is a great way to spend time with who you want, even if it's over a video game.
