This season for the boys basketball team has been very good for the team considering there are no seniors on the team. But the juniors and sophomores seem to have been doing a great job keeping it together. They have the chance of being back to back state champs and have lots of pressure on them especially having no seniors has made it tougher for them. All of the TRHS students have done a wonderful job of showing up to the games and showing support for their team. As Ryan Doyle said “I think we're heading in the right direction and having lots of potential and we're heading in the right direction.” He also states “The student section has been really good this year and a lot of people have been showing up. It’s been a lot of fun to play in front of the student section and makes me wanna play harder.”
Over all the boys have been doing a great job this season so far giving it their all with a record of 13-7. Lots of students have stepped up as leaders this year and shown lots of progress as coach Ortiz says, “I have had a few students really stand up this season and show lots of leadership towards the other students and keeping them calm as a team. Andrew Crawford and Charlie Spann have really shown leadership and been compassionate and staying positive throughout the whole season.” Coach Orteez also says that “I'm very surprised at how the juniors and sophomores have been holding up with no seniors on the team and I'm very proud how far they have come and how they have been improving.”
Mrs. Rants had the same to say she says “The girls have been doing so well this year and I'm so proud of them, they have come so far and shown so much potential.” Also Jada Schmucker has had a great season as well and been a great teammate as she says “I have had a great experience at TRHS playing for the girls basketball team and I'm sad this has to be my last year playing for them. Overall the basketball season has been good; they have had a record of 12-7. Tune in for more information as the season is coming to an end.
